Today in class we played around with gyrocopters again, as well as made a 1 page hand-written summary with enough data to build a proper graph.
Be sure your graph is well constructed based on our guidelines from yesterday (title, author, date, label, legend).
For homework, due on Monday, you received three new gyrocopter templates for you to make a similar 1 page summary, however the heading would be different. Since the modifications are already designed, your written paragraph will be a Summary (7 sentences) of the experiment at home. Include good details to support how you made sure your experiment was fair.
You also received a pre-generated table to organize your data. All you need to do now, once you complete the table, is create a similar graph.
This will be submitted on Monday, during our single period.
While you are completing this experiment at home, start thinking about how you want to design your own gyrocopter experiment. Think about the 1 variable you could change (total mass, mass distribution, location and number of airfoils, overall dimensions, materials used in its design).
During the single period, we will begin to write a formal lab report, and on the double we will spend 1 period constructing, and the second period testing. On 1 October (while the 8s are at Pine Crest) we will do some peer editing of our reports, and your first official Grade 7 lab report will be ready for submission on Monday, 7 October!
On 7 October you will then submit:
- lab report
- today's one page summary (which I will collect for you on Monday and keep for safe keeping)
- next week's one page summary (of the experiment you did at home, which I will collect on 23 Sept)
Does the graph and the summary have to be on different pages?
