As we can see, everyone is starting to get busy. With 1/3 of the class absent today representing the school at a tournament, we used today to continue work on other assignments, start new ones, and have additional support in other subject areas.
Wednesday - Science homework due (3 different food webs, Q 1, 2, 4)
Thursday - Anne Frank Maturity paragraph due (typed, with rough draft stapled to the back).
Friday - Language packages due (make sure you have your historical recount, aka package 1, on hand as well as we will be doing a comparative analysis between these two genres).
Tomorrow we will continue our exploration in Unit 2 on math, reintroducing ratios, rates, and unit rates. We will also examine a complex word problem (C/A) rooted in GCF and LCM. Next week we will combine those concepts with rates and unit rates.
We can safely forecast the completion of the Anne Frank novel by the end of next week, and start a summary project similar to Shipwrecked. Bravo Zulu to 7A for your ongoing reading and interesting conversations in class. It is quite refreshing to be in a class where students are able to answer questions from other students, and listen to the discussion around those events in the novel (Peter vs Petel, the hallucination, etc).
Our next novel study will be either I am David or Ender's Game. We will begin a short story creative writing unit in December. Stay tuned to this blog for more information.
